Some info from our Parent Liaison Worker

17 March 2023 (by admin)

There will be no Newsletter this week, but please see below regarding some upcoming events and key information from our Parent Liaison Worker, Lorraine Boddy. Thank you and have a lovely weekend.

Seely Seeds / Nursery Children Update

We want to give you an update on the Seely Seeds sessions which children are invited to prior to starting nursery. At present the nursery is full and so we will be unable to take any new starters after the Spring break in April, which means we will not be running any Seely Seeds sessions this term.

To support the new starters to Nursery in September we will be running Seely Seeds sessions in the summer term. Families with children who turn 3 years old between now and the end of August will be invited to attend these sessions. Places at nursery are offered to all eligible pupils based on the admissions criteria. We can then talk to you about your child’s needs and, if additional support is required, we will discuss next steps.

If your child is turning 3 before September and we do not have their details on our nursery waiting list please ring into the office to do this. Thanks

Seely Swimathon '23

Just a reminder that any Swimathon money needs to be paid in by next Wednesday 22nd March.

We believe the team raised around £500, although it is difficult to give a final total until all sponsorship money is in. We would also like to encourage other families, if they can, to sponsor our Seely Team - donations can be paid in via the school Gateway under the heading 'Seely Swimathon 2023'

Many thanks for your support.

Food Parcels

Some of those families who requested food parcels may have had one delivered already. For those families who haven't received their food parcels yet please can you come in next Friday 24th March to Coffee Morning in the KS1 Dining Hall after drop off . Baz from Switch Up will be here to hand over the food parcels, to answer questions and offer any support he can. Any issues with this please contact lorraine.boddy@seely.nottingham.sch.uk or ring 07566733409.

Food Event - Thursday 27th April - afterschool

Bored of cooking the same food and need some inspiration....

We are having a food tasting event for all families. We hope that this may encourage children to try some new foods alongside sharing some easy healthy recipes with parents. We are organising this with our school kitchen as well. What will be happening..

  • Fiona - our school cook will be cooking some of the canteens food.
  • Some of our parents who have been learning to cook food with Sameena (our Samosa Lady) will be sharing some of their delights
  • And WE  NEED  YOU - is there any parents who would like to cook some food for this event

As we are such a culturally diverse school we believe that we could have a fantastic range of food on offer to try, and then be able to take away a recipe to make it at home. If anyone would like to get involved making food or helping out at this event please contact lorraine.boddy@seely.nottingham.sch.uk or 07566733409. This will be a fantastic event but we do need you. Thanks very much
