Admission Arrangements for September 2023
Welcome to Seely Primary and Nursery School. We are looking forward to working with all our families as the children begin their learning journeys in F2.
We have devised a transition programme to support your child’s entry into reception. Please see the arrangements and dates below.
Wednesday 14thJune - Meetings for Parents/Carers
9.00 – 9.45am - parents/carers of our nursery children
10.15 – 11.00am - parents/carers of children new to Seely
1.45 – 2.30pm - parents/carers of children new to Seely
Monday 3rd July – Drop-in Visits
1.50– 2.15pm – Seely Nursery children visit their new classrooms and meet their teachers
2.20 – 3.00pm – Children new to Seely visit their new classrooms and meet their teachers with their parents/carers
Friday 14th July – Drop-in Visits
9.40– 10.20am - Seely Nursery children visit their new classrooms and meet their teachers
10.25– 11.25am - Children new to Seely visit their new classrooms and meet their teachers with their parents/carers
Tuesday 5th September - Class Visit – including class teacher presentation.
9.15 – 10.15 am
10.30 – 11.30 am
1.00 – 2.00pm
2.15 – 3.15pm
Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th and Friday 8th September – Part-time Placement
Children will be invited to attend a morning or afternoon session
Week Beginning 11th September – All children will start full-time
All parent/carers will receive communication from us outlining the arrangements for the September class visits and part-time placement allocation at the parent meetings on 14th June.
Please note all of the dates and times above are subject to review with the Foundation Stage and SEND Teams as we strive to create the best possible provision for every child to enable them to reach their full potential.

Statutory School Places (Reception Year onwards)
Attending the Nursery when a child is aged three or four does not guarantee a statutory school place at age five. All parents and carers must apply for a school place through the Nottingham City Council co-ordinated application and admission process to request a place at the school they would like to attend, even if it is Seely Primary School.
An application form, guide to admissions and individual advice on the admissions process will be sent to parents and carers in the school year before the child reaches the age of five. Please ask if you are unsure as we can provide support if required.
Children are admitted to full time education at the beginning of the academic year (September) in which they are five.
A meeting for carers is held to explain the changes from Nursery to Reception. Parents do have the option of deferring their child’s entry until the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday.
