Leonardo da Vinci

In September the whole of KS1 and KS2 visited Nottingham Castle to see an exhibition of 10 drawings from the Royal Academy collection. Each class chose a drawing to study and explored the drawing techniques Leonardo used. At the castle we had the chance to see all 10 drawings and find out about his amazing life. Children were inspired to create their own drawings using a variety of techniques. Some classes made their own quill pens and used drawing inks, others used pencils and chalk pastels. Some of the best drawings were displayed in a Schools’ Exhibition over a weekend at the castle.
