Literacy
This week to get back into the swing of lessons we've given you some more key skills to revise. These skills include: expanded noun phrases, modal verbs, prepositional phrases, inverted commas and commas for clarity. Follow each PowerPoint for a brief overview and complete your selected activity.

This is your final week on the living things topic. You will explore the habitat you live in looking for different living things. You must create your own field guide which is a book designed to help the reader identify the living things that can be found in a particular habitat.

SMSC - Looking after your wellbeing
These lessons are aimed at children between the ages of 9-11. It has been designed for parents and carers to work through with their child at home, using the lesson presentation as a guide. Children can use drawings or writing on these resources.

This week you will be doing activities based on volume and capacity. Follow each PowerPoint each day and then complete the activity based on the difficulty level you feel comfortable with.

Activity - Sources of Evidence
Peer Mediators - Deadline extended until 12th June
Peer Mediator Applications are still open. This is an excellent opportunity for you all and comes with great responsibility. Your role will be to sort out and prevent problems on the playground during breaks and lunchtimes, as well as supporting younger children who may be upset. Full training will be provided on how to deal with certain situations, so if you are interested please write an application letter addressed to Mrs Newton. You can apply to be a peer mediator by either emailing the year 5 address your application or posting directly to Mrs Newton at school. When applying think about the skills you have that would make you a fantastic peer mediator. Email the year 5 email address if you would like any help with writing your letter.
