£5 Royal Concert Hall Tickets for Nottingham Classics!

22 February 2023 (by admin)

The Royal Concert Hall are offering £5 tickets to see the performance on Saturday 11 March detailed below and have asked us share this great offer with you, but seats are selling fast so don’t delay!

Did you know that the Royal Concert Hall is one of the best places in the world to hear live orchestras? The sound here, when an orchestra really lets rip, is mind-blowingly brilliant! So if you’ve never heard a live orchestral performance before then this is the perfect place to hear one. And we’d like to tempt you to try it with an outrageously good ticket offer.

This March we’ve got a thrilling concert for you performed by the world-renowned BBC Symphony Orchestra. On Saturday 11 March, charismatic French maestro Lionel Bringuier conducts them in a programme that’s ablaze with colour and bursting with energy, beginning with George Gershwin’s An American in Paris. This heady love affair with the city, complete with bluesy melodies and tooting taxi horns, is the prelude to more dance-inspired delights in Albert Roussel’s witty ballet score to Le Festin de l’araignée (The Spider’s Feast) and Ravel’s spectacular La Valse, which turns the Viennese waltz into a dizzying whirl of sensuous movement.

Finally, there’s some amazing virtuosity from Nottingham-born Clare Hammond, who’ll be playing Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Although the composer was in his autumn years when he wrote it, its brilliance and ingenuity speak volumes for his undimmed powers of invention, not to mention his unrivalled dexterity as a pianist. Clare’s ‘shimmering pianism and lightly-worn virtuosity’ (BBC Music Magazine) make her the ideal soloist for this timeless classic.
