Did you know that there are currently more than 65 million Christmas jumpers in UK homes? Over 12 million are sold every year! And nearly all Christmas jumpers contain plastic and are often worn only a handful of times.
Seely is taking part in Christmas Jumper day on Friday 9th December. Children are invited to wear a Christmas Jumper to school on this day. We are very happy for those who do not celebrate Christmas to come in a winter jumper or special outfit. In order to be more environmentally friendly, we are aiming to reduce the number of new jumpers bought specifically for Christmas.
This year we are holding a Christmas & Winter Jumper Swap Shop! We are asking that you donate all those unwanted Christmas and winter jumpers from years gone by for others to use and enjoy this festive period. This stops the need to buy new jumpers, both helping us to save money and the planet in one step.
Send your jumpers into school or drop them in the Christmas & winter jumper drop off box located in the school office from now until Friday 25th November.
Friends of Seely will then collate and store these donations. We ask that jumpers are clean and presentable. We will then hold a Christmas Jumper Swap Shop on the playground after school on Monday 28th November and Friday 2nd December.
All parents/carers are invited to come and chose a donated jumper. This will of course be on a first come, first served basis.
