Hayward House Appeal

19 April 2022 (by admin)

Just before the Easter break some of our Year 6 pupils were invited to the launch of the Hayward House Appeal.

Hayward House is a unique palliative care centre located in the grounds of Nottingham City Hospital. They provide specialist care for people with a range of life-limiting illnesses.

They invited some of our children to be involved in a nature trail to launch the appeal which includes many improvements, including the enhancement of the garden and peaceful outdoor spaces located on site. We will be hopefully getting more involved in the appeal later in the year so keep an eye out for more information about how we as a school, and community can show our support.

In the meantime, please see the message below from a representative of Hayward House, including press release / news coverage links etc - we are particularly proud of the segment of coverage of a beautiful poem written and performed by one of our own Year 6 pupils, Marlow.

"Thank you so much to you, your colleagues and your lovely pupils for attending the Hayward House Appeal launch yesterday, it was wonderful to have you all there. Marlow did a fantastic job with his poem, he should be really proud of himself!

We thought you might like to see the media coverage received so far…

  • The appeal launch event was featured on Notts TV last night, including a snippet of Marlow reading his poem. You can watch the piece again here (skip to 02:15)
  • Our press release about the appeal launch appeared on the West Bridgford Wire website here
  • The Nottingham Post attended and live streamed the event on Facebook, which received over 4,400 views. You can see it here
  • Our press release about the appeal is also on our Charity website here and on the NUH Trust website here

We are already seeing donations to the appeal coming in on our website appeal page here, which is fantastic news!

Thank you again"
