Nottingham Asian Arts Council Music and Dance Academy

18 June 2021 (by admin)

Message from the NAAC: We have decided to restart our NAAC Music & Dance Academy classes from September 2021.

Keeping everyone safe is paramount. However, to keep our members engaged, we have got a few exciting events and free workshops planned over the next few months and hope to see you all there.

To celebrate International Day Of Yoga, NAAC have organised activities in the Formal Gardens at Wollaton Park on Saturday 26 June from 11am to 4pm, as part of the Wollaton Arts Festival to kickstart our events calendar. Mr. Darshan Sohal of  Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust will deliver the Yoga session, NAAC dance tutors Bhumika  and Ankita will lead on the Bollywood Zumba & Kathak dance and Multi lingual poetry by Mrs. Jai Verma, and Kavya Rang group poets.

Free workshops in Dhol and Bhangra will treat enthusiasts from the 24 June at The Hindu Temple Cultural & Community Centre for Dhol, and at The Nottingham Playhouse for Bhangra. A special thanks to BeatFeet Drumming & Dance Workshops for organising these with NAAC, not forgetting Hindu Temple for accommodating the Dhol workshops and Nottingham Playhouse for supporting these with their stalls foyer dance space. Please note all workshops will be booked on a first come first served basis.
