Forest School

Pupils in Key Stage 1 attend Forest School sessions with our very own Mrs Draper-Hurt at the Blackwoods Scout site in Sherwood.

At Seely, we feel it is important for children to have experiences of learning, investigating and playing in nature so they develop an understanding of the world around them. At Forest School, children make dens, climb trees, make artworks, play on swings, crawl through tunnels, investigate minibeasts, build shelters and cook on fires.

The Year 2 residential camp to Blackwoods includes many of the elements of Forest School and gives the children the opportunity to learn through their outdoor environment.

Every summer, our Reception Children have a focused outdoor day at Blackwoods to complete some of their '60 Things to do at Seely before 11¾' and to prepare them for Forest School sessions in Key Stage 1.

Have a look at our photo gallery below to see our children enjoying their Forest School sessions.
