Grand opening ceremony

Wednesday 12th November is a day for us all to remember! This is the day that the newly formed Seely Primary & Nursery School had it's official openung ceremony.

The ribbon was cut by The Lord Mayor of Nottingham - Councillor Ian Malcolm, who was then treated to an array of performances by the pupils of the school - ranging from the very youngest nursery children to the very oldest year 6 pupils.

Invitees also included some of the people that made the amalgamation possible including representatives from Nottingham City Council.  Families and pupils from the school attended the event alongside governors, mid day supervisors and organisations that work in partnership with us as well as volunteers and friends of the school.

Mike Reade DipArch DipUD RIBA who attended the event said:

"Thank you very much for your invite for your school opening events this morning.

It was a great pleasure to attend and to see your school operating as a single team in a single building.

Particular highlights for me were the KS1 American folk song sung in harmony and, of course, you knew I would love the KS2 Chain Gang song!

Please pass on our congratulations to the staff and children of the school for their efforts in making the morning so entertaining.

We wish you all the best for the future with your amalgamated school."

And for those of you who weren't able to make the event, videos of the children's performances will be loaded very soon....watch this space!!!!
